About Us
Established in 2002, Ann Arbor Jiu-Jitsu, located in the heart of downtown, is the premiere Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) school in Ann Arbor, MI.
Ann Arbor Jiu-Jitsu is also registered as an official BJJ school under the United States Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (USBJJF).
The head professor, Sean Bansfield, is a certified 1st degree black belt under the USBJJF and International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federations (IBJJF).
Of note, Professor Sean received his Blue belt from Ricardo De La Riva, originator of the “De La Riva” guard. He received his Black belt in December 2006 from Royler Gracie black belt and 6-time World BJJ champion Saulo Ribeiro. Professor Sean is also a 3-time Pan Jiu-Jitsu champion.
All of our professors are rank of purple belt and above, and actively compete in local and national tournaments.
